Flowers and House Plants – Department J-15

  • Judging, Thursday, 10:00 a.m.

One Grand Champion and one Reserve Champion will be selected from Flowers. One Grand Champion and one Reserve Champion will be selected from Houseplants. One Grand Champion and one Reserve Champion will be selected from Herbs, Garden Plants and Plant Crafts. Ribbon will be awarded. Diseased plants will be sent home. Exhibitors bring entries at own risk. Plants are not to be sprayed with leaf shine.

Department J-15, Class A – Flowers

Open to exhibitors in the Flower Project. Flowers must be raised

by exhibitor. All flowers must be brought in suitable, attractive vases or containers, foliage attached to blooms or spikes is acceptable. Please attach tags to vases with string or yarn, not to flowers.  Listing varieties on the tag is optional except where noted.

Arrangements

Department J-15, Class B – Houseplants

Open to exhibitors enrolled in Houseplants. No pots larger than

10 inches across or 10 inches square, measured at the top of the pot. Diseased plants will be sent home. Bring entries at your own risk. Plants must be taken care of by exhibitor at least three months.

Department J-15, Class C – Herbs

Open to exhibitors enrolled in Houseplants, Flowers or Plant & Soil Science.

Open to exhibitors enrolled in House Plants, Flowers or Plant & Soil Science. Plant materials grown or collected by exhibitor. No artificial product.

  2. Design of garden, labeling plants, telling whether it is sun or shade (no larger than 3×3 feet).

  4. Any other exhibit (no larger than 3×3 feet).
